Unicorn signs major new deal with PDC
The Professional Darts Corporation and Unicorn Products sign a five-year contract to extend their partnership
The deal sees Unicorn continue their association as the Official Darts Equipment provider to the PDC until at least 2017, which extends the partnership between the two companies to 20 years.
Unicorn's Eclipse Pro dartboard will continue to be used in all competitive matches in the PDC, including all televised tournaments as well as events on the PDC ProTour and PDC Unicorn Youth Tour. Unicorn will also continue to support the future stars of darts as sponsors of the PDC Unicorn Youth Tour and PDC Unicorn World Youth Championship over the next five years.
"It's a pleasure to extend our relationship with Unicorn Products and we thank them for their continued support of the Professional Darts Corporation," said PDC Chairman Barry Hearn. "They have continued to develop the quality of their products in recent years, and this is epitomised in the use of the Unicorn Eclipse Pro board which is used in every PDC tournament.
"In addition, Unicorn have played a key role in our introduction of the Youth Tour and World Youth Championship in the past two years, and their ongoing backing for the stars of the future shows their commitment to developing this sport in the long-term.
Edward Lowy, the Managing Director of Unicorn Products, said: "We are absolutely delighted to commit to a new long-term agreement with the PDC. This will cement a 20-year relationship for the exclusive supply of Unicorn Eclipse Pro dartboards to the PDC, and there can be no finer endorsement of the enduring quality of Unicorn dartboards than that."
The announcement also includes a five-year commitment to sponsoring the PDC Youth Tour and World Youth Championship. Unicorn has been actively working with Darts Academies around the country since 2006, aiming to give younger players properly equipped and supervised locations where they can learn the sport.
