“The decision to change the name of the professional examination committee for deputies was taken by the state cabinet during its meeting on Friday,” the interior minister and government spokesman told reporters. Narottam Mishra.
“The Aayog will now work under the General Administration Department,” he added.
Previously, he worked under the State Technical Education Department.
After the Vyapam scam rocked the state, the government changed its name to MP Professional Examination Board.
The scam was exposed in 2013, in which candidates allegedly bribed officials and rigged exams by deploying imposters to write their answer sheets. Some politicians, senior officials and businessmen were also reportedly implicated in the irregularities. The CBI took over the investigation following the Supreme Court order in 2015.
Meanwhile, Mishra said the cabinet also made other decisions including providing Rs 50 lakh to jumper Faraz Khan, who is from the state, for his training for the 19th Asian Games, and also approved DA relief payable to pensioners, government employees, teachers and panchayat secretary as announced by the chief minister earlier.
